Mission Statement

The COYOTE POINT RIFLE & PISTOL CLUB, INC. is a California Nonprofit, Public Benefit Corporation. It is exempt under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and Section 23701d of the California Revenue and Taxation Code.

The Corporation’s principal purposes are to promote and teach firearm safety and hunter education to the public; to sponsor local, State and National competitive shooting sports which are open to the public; to operate the Coyote Point Shooting Range during hours that it is open to the public on behalf of the Sheriff of San Mateo County (owner of the Range); sponsor programs in firearm & air gun safety and marksmanship training for adults and youth groups.

The Corporation provides services to the public by teaching firearm safety and marksmanship classes, and Hunter Education Classes to the public. The volunteer instructors (Club Members), who teach these classes, are fully certified to teach these classes. The California Department of Fish & Game regulates the Hunter Education Course, including the fee charged to the student. Each Hunter Education Instructor has been awarded his Instructor Certification by the California Department of Fish & Game. All of the Rifle and Pistol Instructors have earned their Instructor certifications via coursework and experience required by The National Rifle Association for such certification.
