The volunteers who are members of Coyote Point Rifle and Pistol Club, Inc. give countless hours of their time to support and foster the shooting sports. We give regular classes in Rifle, Pistol, Hunter Education, and more. For more information, please select one of the topics below:
The purpose of this course is to introduce basic pistol handling and safety to people who have had no experience with pistol shooting. The class will provide students with an introduction to the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to own and use a modern firearm safely. The class will introduce pistol safety, components and operation, an introduction to ammunition and the fundamentals of shooting skills.

The purpose of this course is to introduce basic pistol handling and safety to people who have had no experience with pistol shooting. The class will teach pistol safety, components and operation, introduction to ammunition, fundamentals of shooting skills, and equipment care. A total of 8 hours will be split between 4 hour classroom lecture/demonstrations, 2 hr dry fire simulation and 2 hr shooting on the range.

This is a two day clinic that is open exclusively to women. The purpose of this clinic is to introduce basic pistol handling and safety to women who have had no experience with pistol shooting. Taught in a comfortable environment where students are encouraged to ask questions and dispel any preconceived anxieties they may have about guns.

This class is an introduction to basic rifle handling and safety for those who have no experience with rifle shooting. The class will teach rifle safety, components and operation, introduction to ammunition, fundamentals of shooting skills, equipment care and cleaning.
Mar 7-8, Aug 15-16
The State of California requires all first time resident hunters, regardless of age, to complete hunter education training or pass a comprehensive equivalency test before purchasing a hunting license. This 4-hour class lets you rely on your experience, home study and internet pre-study course to prepare.
Non-shooting course and teaches students the basic knowledge, skills, and to explain the attitude necessary for the safe handling and storage of firearms and ammunition in the home.
This Course is provided without cost to the Coyote Point Rifle and Pistol Club Members, who serve as RSO’s at the Range. The course is scheduled as needed.
