The Coyote Point Rifle and Pistol Club promotes responsible gun ownership and practices. In our NRA First Step courses we strive to develop safe firearm handling skills for the individual with little or no experience with modern firearms.
Each class will provide beginning shooters with an introduction to the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to own and use a modern firearm safely. Each class will introduce the student to pistol safety, parts and operation, an introduction to ammunition and the fundamentals of shooting, followed with an introduction to cleaning and storage. A total of 3 hours will be spending in the classroom and on the range. The instructors will provide firearms and ammunition. We will use .22 caliber pistols only. You may bring your personal firearm to the class to learn how it functions and how the safety works. Make sure your firearm is unloaded before coming to class. Do not bring any personal ammunition to class. You will use only the ammunition and .22 caliber pistols provide by the instructor. Hearing and eye protection will be supplied by the instructor.
IMPORTANT: Any one under the age of 21 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. EACH CLASS IS LIMITED TO 5 STUDENTS.
You need to register for the course by visiting the NRA Education Training web site at http://www.nrahq.org/education/training/. We will not allow walk-on’s.
Once you are registered the NRA will notify the instructor. We will then send you the required release forms via e-mail and the address where to send your registration fees.
