California DFG Home Study/On-Line Hunter Education

This 4-hour class lets you rely on your experience, home study and internet pre-study course to prepare.

Class objectives:

• Address questions from internet pre-study course
• Review of key information
• Hands-on firearms session (no live fire)
• Administer Department of Fish & Game Hunter Education Test

Note:

1) The recommended age for attendance in this course is 18 years of age and older. A parent or legal Guardian must accompany any student under the age of 18 so that necessary consents, releases and waivers can be signed at the beginning of the class.

2) Due to the home study nature of the course, advanced registration is required. Registration will be cut-off when the class limit (10) is reached. Class with less than 3 students will be rescheduled.

3) Students must successfully complete the on-line portion of at least one home study course, print out, and bring to class proof of successful completion.

4) The written test will only be given once. A passing score is 80 percent. This is NOT an easy test. Failure will require registration for a new class.

5) The On-Line Course is intended for hunters with previous experience OR those who are willing to study extra hard on their own. It is recommended that ALL on-line study resources be used:
